Answer:
Membrane separations provide a consistent separation, as it is based predominantly on the size of the pores in the membranes. In water treatment this means that high quality water is consistently produced. Similarly in the dairy industry, separation of milk components is achieved reliably and consistently, and it is based on the pore size of the membranes.
